PU FEST 2K microcement sealer

 

Floors, walls and countertops covered with microcement are mostly used in representative locations (guest rooms, conference rooms) as well as places subject to heavy dirt (kitchen) or constant contact with water (bathrooms, swimming pools). Although microcement does not absorb water, we recommend protecting it with a microcement sealer that will improve its appearance and durability as well as will make cleaning easier. Much like applying a stain guard to a new couch or waxing your cherished car, sealing a concrete floor is critical for protecting your investment.

PU FEST 2K is a two-component, water-based polyurethane product for long term floor protection. It reduces dirt adhesion, so that warm water is enough for day-to-day floor maintenance. The product gives it chemical and mechanical resistance and the choice is a satin, matt or gloss finish. Application of PU FEST 2K

Obviously, PU FEST 2K is not only a product for the protection of microcement. It can also be used for finishing floors made of other materials such as:

  • Epoxy floors,
  • Polyurethane flooring,
  • PVC coverings,
  • Linoleum,
  • Wooden floors.

 

Application

PU FEST 2K is supplied in two components. Shake well before use. Mix sealer (Component A) and hardener (Component B) in a ratio of 5:1. After mixing the two ingredients wait 10 minutes and then stir again. The mixed product in a sealed package is ready for use for about 2 hours. After application, when the product is dry to touch (about 2h), apply the second coat in the same way as the first one.

WARNING:

  • The surface must be dry, clean and dust-free,
  • Floor and sealer temperature during application and drying >15°C

 

Drying time

Another coat of sealer can be applied after about 2 hours. The second layer of PU FEST 2K sealer should be applied not later than 12 hours after applying the first coat.

PU FEST 2K achieves 80% of its strength after 24 hours, and its full durability after 7 days (20°C, 50% humidity). Low temperatures, high humidity as well as poor ventilation can lengthen sealer’s bonding process. Therefore, during the first 10-14 days be careful while moving furniture or heavy objects on the floor.

Additionally, for the first 7 days sealer should not be exposed to water.

Consumption – about 0.1 kg/m2

The product should be protected from frost and stored in a cool, dry place. Best before 12 months from the date of production (in its closed original container). Keep out of reach of children.
