Although the majority of microcement projects are still flats or single-family houses, we observe a significant increase in the interest in microcement in service and gastronomic premises. Today we invite you to see the floor made of our microcement in a restaurant in Katowice, one of Poland’s biggest cities.
Microcement in a restaurant
Bułkęs restaurant is located at 21 Wojewódzka Str, near the main railway station in Katowice, one of Poland’s biggest cities. The place has been running for 4 years now and is very popular (4.6 / 5 on Google and over 1700 reviews!). A delightful culinary experience awaits you there. The chef’s specialty is long-roasted pork and beef in various versions, fries with homemade sauces and American pancakes. There are also vegetarian and vegan options available – sandwiches with grilled vegetables, tofu or halloumi cheese. In addition, you can drink lemonade made of whole fruits, original iced teas with fruit, 100% juices and amazing drinks.
We ordered a pulled beef sandwich with a fried egg and it was a real delight to the palate! Perfectly matched ingredients, highest quality meat and wonderful sauce prepared on the spot.
Well, but it was supposed to be about the floor….;)
Restaurant floor renovation with microcement
As we have already mentioned, the restaurant has been operating for several years. This summer it was time to renovate it. The new floor in the restaurant (over 150 m2) was made by Sławomir Pankowski’s team from Trend Posadzki Dekoracyjne, which has been specializing in microcement, epoxy and 3D floors for many years. The contractors found the previous floor torn off and had to level and properly prepare the substrate. They used a bonding bridge with mesh, then put two layers of Festfloor Life microcement (GR3 color), which they sealed with PU FEST 2K varnish (included in the Fesftloor Life kitt).
The new concrete floor perfectly fits into the industrial character of the interior. It fits perfectly with concrete decorative plaster on walls, creating a uniform surface without expansion joints. The austerity of concrete is contrasted by chairs and tables in pastel shades of pink and blue, and the whole is enlivened by a large number of potted flowers and stylish neon lights.
Overall impressions of the restaurant in Katowice: 5/5, both in terms of food and decor. We are already looking forward to our next visit 🙂
