MICROCEMENT CEILING
More and more people value variety and individuality in interior design, so they often opt for ceilings other than the traditional white ones. Alternative ceiling finishes allow people to express their personal style, and the materials, colors and textures used can also have a positive effect on the atmosphere in the room. In this context, the microcement ceiling is an interesting solution, combining interesting design and boldness.

MICROCEMENT ON THE CEILING
Microcement can be used on the ceiling, just as it can be used on other surfaces such as floors, walls and countertops. One of the main advantages of microcement is its thinness, which makes it suitable even where traditional finishing materials would be impractical or difficult to apply.
The microcement ceiling is distinguished by several important features compared to other traditional ceiling finishes:
- Thin layer: Festfloor® microcement is a decorative layer that is 2-3 mm thick, allowing the room to maintain its full height without any additional weight on the structure.
- Consistent surface: Microcement allows for a smooth and uniform surface with the walls, eliminating visible divisions. As a result, the microcement ceiling becomes part of the entire interior composition, creating a sense of continuity and cohesion in the space.
- Washability: Compared to paint, microcement is friendlier to care for. Properly protected microcement (Don’t make these mistakes when it comes to sealing microcement surfaces!) can be washed with a mild detergent or a special cleaner. You can read more about microcement care in our article ⇒ How to clean microcement? Microcement care and maintenance tips
- Personalization: Festfloor Go! microcement is available in a wide range of colors, so instead of the traditional white, you can opt for a microcement ceiling in unusual colors, such as pastels, various shades of gray or deep colors, giving the room individuality. Read more about available colors
HOW TO MAKE MICROCEMENT ON THE CEILING?
Before working with microcement on the ceiling, make sure the surface is properly prepared. The ceiling should be even, dry and free of dust and other debris to ensure a durable microcement coating.
You will make the microcement on the ceiling in the same way as for the wall, in the following steps:
1. Assessing the quality of the substrate – a key step before starting finishing work.
2. Substrate preparation – has a significant impact on the durability of the final microcement finish.
3. Priming – ensures better adhesion of microcement to the substrate.
4. Microcement application – 2 layers of material spread over the entire surface using trowels.
5. Sealing / impregnation – is responsible for the final appearance of the surface and protects the microcement from moisture, stains and scratches.
For the ceiling, we recommend using FESTFLOOR GO! microcement, ready to use. After opening the package, you get a finished, colored microcement, which is characterized by high durability and very high adhesion to the substrate.
You can find a description of the entire process of applying microcement to walls STEP by STEP and preparing the substrate here.
