Colors of the year 2025 – discover the colors that will dominate interiors
The year 2025 brings a new range of inspiring colors. Brands such as Pantone, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams and AkzoNobel have announced their color of the year choices. Each captures a different emotion and aesthetic, offering a wide range of design possibilities.
Pantone – 17-1230 Mocha Mousse
The Pantone Color of the Year program has for years engaged the community of designers, artists and color enthusiasts in an inspiring conversation about the role of color in our lives. By selecting one distinctive hue that reflects global trends, Pantone highlights the connection between color and culture, social desires and emotions.
For 2025, the Pantone Color Institute has announced PANTONE Color of the Year 17-1230 Mocha Mousse. It’s a warming, deep brown with rich saturation that tempts with the suggestion of tasty associations with chocolate and coffee. At a time when the world craves a sense of comfort and calm, Mocha Mousse offers harmony, coziness and everyday pleasure.
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, says that:
Underpinned by our desire for every day pleasures, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence. Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe.
Mocha Mousse expands our perception of browns. Traditionally associated with naturalness and earthiness, browns in 2025 gain a new dimension – they become aspirational, luxurious, but still close to everyday experiences. Mocha Mousse is a color that exudes warmth while adding a sophisticated touch to interiors and designs.

Why Mocha Mousse?
In a world that increasingly appreciates the value of small pleasures, such as a cup of coffee in the morning or a favorite chocolate at the end of the day, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse symbolizes the combination of simplicity and luxury. It is a shade that responds to the desire for calm, coziness and comfort, but also gives a sense of sophistication and thoughtful design.
Benjamin Moore – Cinnamon Slate 2113-40
Cinnamon Slate 2113-40 – color of the year 2025 according to Benjamin Moore (the paint manufacturer) – is a subtle combination of heather plum and velvety brown that embodies harmony between contemporary trends and timeless elegance. This versatile shade exudes tranquility, enhancing the beauty of interiors without dominating the space.
Andrea Magno, Director of Color Marketing & Design of Benjamin Moore & Co, evokes associations with a soft fabric, such as “velvet.” Due to its neutrality, “Cinnamon Slate” blends perfectly with natural materials such as wood, as well as warm accents of gold and amber. In cooler lighting, it reveals more muted plum half-tones, becoming an even more versatile choice, ideal for contemporary but also timeless settings.
